With the Christian rock band Delirious opening us up, the massive Hall was packed with passionate people celebrating and worshipping together! It was a great feeling to be in one place while being united with many of our Korean and Korean-American brethren under the banner of: our Lord, Jesus Christ!
Dr. John C. Kim challenged the attendees– to repent of the sins of America, following the footsteps of Jeremiah Lanphier as he prayed for a revival in the city of New York. Dr. Kim welcomed people from all around the world, including England, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, and Hungary.
According to Dr. Zimmerman, like a fashion show, we must wear the clothes of the Kingdom and walk the runway of life to showcase to the world of the future to come. We have a tendency to forget, but we must remember these three thing order to experience and extend the glory of God: grace, community, and service. We must do this by stepping away from performance-based living. We all fall short. We are all "as if" damaged goods.
Pastor Stephen Chong called everyone to a public and private repentance on the middle stage, which was followed by a skit. A clip was played about the difference between the cruise ship and battleship approach in looking for a church. It was a powerful clip that encouraged everyone to take the Kingdom perspective.
The beautiful Kenyan world-traveling children’s singing group Jirani blessed us with traditional African songs, even in the Korean language!
Reverend Nam Soo Kim preached that we must begin to see ONE Church, ONE Spirit, and ONE Christ. We must imitate children, being simple, pure, humble, and not costly. We need to be open and embracing diversity among God’s people, His creations, and accept them as our community, so we can work together to glorify His name.
We were truly blessed by the continuous pouring of God’s Spirit and blessings from some of the greatest men and women of God ministering and encouraging us today.
