Contrary to popular notion, a rising tide does not lift all boats. We live in a world where a disgruntled employee guns down fellow employees, where a classmate kills other classmates. It is a world ready made to pander the instant gratification, with a click cloaked in anonymity through the internet, the immediate access caters to every whim and insidious fantasy.
Moreover, the prophetic voice
of the Church has been tamped down by the adulteration of the Word of God. It has been duly handled by licentious secularism and scurrilous post-modernity. The message of the Gospel—the power of God—has been diluted to the point where it is unrecognizable, lost in the haze of feel good philosophy of the age. Indeed, college campuses, once the fertile ground for change usually for the better, are a flash point in this battle over absolute truth, where doctrinaire relativism runs amok.
It thus behooves the young generation, especially the college students, to return to the biblical mandates as spelled out in the Scriptures. The Church of Jesus Christ is the true educator of man in the most holistic and all encompassing sense, for it teaches the very Words of Life—the true life, the beautiful life. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). No longer are you to remain ignorant, Biblical illiterates keeping silent cravenly hiding behind your ivy tower, your blog, and your dorm room to the blackening and denigrating of the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Without boldness, the Christian is useless! Without boldness, YOU are useless! This is the generation that must rise up and fight the good fight—to meet and engage at every battlefront that mocks and belittles the Name. We must pray down the strongholds and every form of bondage and enslavement that stands against the light of Truth—the glory and the splendor of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must no longer remain impotent, silent, sterile and weak but in collective prayer and worship with thanksgiving and praise, rally the community of the faithful to reach out and speak the Word in boldness and in love.
Together, we’ll explore the various topics related to the theme of this year’s conference: restoration, repentance, revival. Let us challenge the prevailing worldviews on the college campuses today as we usher in the power of God’s Word discerning how we ought to live in the light of His Truth.

Title: How the Supremacy of Christ Creates Radical Christian Sacrifice Speaker: Dr. John Piper, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, MN How does the supremacy of Christ create radical Christian sacrifice? For the answer, we’ll look at a sequence of passages in the New Testament book of Hebrews. But for us to see the answer, we will need to ask: What is the “great reward,” and what is the “better resurrection,” and what is the joy set before us, and what is the “city that is to come”? The answer to all of these questions is the same: Their most ultimate meaning is that they refer to the infinite supremacy of Christ experienced with all-satisfying joy. |

Title: The Art of Sharing the Gospel Speaker: Rev. Francis Chan, Cornerstone Church, Simi Valley, CA The gospel has been so distorted in order to fit our American Culture. Pastors have been willing to twist it in order to accommodate the demands of individuals who seek to worship comfort and security. There is an amazing security the gospel offers, but it must be taught boldly and without apologies. Some have taught the gospel in such a way that the believer never truly experiences security. Others have taught scripture in such a way that even unbelievers feel secure. How do we teach in such a way that true believers enjoy eternal security without offering hope to those who reject the commitment Christ calls us to? By looking at the teachings and teaching style of Jesus. |
| Track 6: July 2, 2008 Time: 3:30-5:00 PM |

How can we bridge the two so that social action can be driven by an intense love for Jesus? Reverend David Sung will discuss the secret behind the passion and power for Kingdom work as discipleship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
