Trip Planning Tips
TRAVEL WITH A GROUP: Get a group committed to go ASAP.
PLAN: Plan your travel and stay in Philadelphia. Philadelphia is a city rich with American history that students may benefit from. There are also nearby renowned colleges that you can tour. Remember, the conference dates are near an important date to the United States – 4th of July.
TICKETS: Buy plane tickets early. Tickets purchased earlier tend to have lower rates than those bought later. Traveling on holidays (i.e. July 4th) may result in cheaper tickets as well.
LODGING: Book your hotel rooms at the Marriott – Philadelphia Downtown for $149.00 + tax by asking for the JAMA New Awakening Conference Rate. Address and contact information is at the top of this page.
PARKING: There are parking structures all around the convention center and the Marriott Hotel. Parking prices range from about $25-$50 per day. For parking structure location and prices click here. Parking at the Marriott Hotel is $41.40 per day. We suggest you try to find parking at a nearby structure or use public transportation.
FOOD: Consider that each person has 3 meals a day. A meal could range from $8-15 depending on where and what you eat.
