The family is the oldest and most basic of human institutions. Yet, with sin and a fallen world, many of our Christian families are deteriorating. Indeed, the most fundamental of God's spiritual units — the family — has become virtually indistinguishable from the rest of the world. As Joshua proclaimed, it should not be so. In this way, the family track wants to stir revival in our families by showing how the Gospel — Christ's gracious, redeeming, and sacrificial work — can strengthen the bonds of holy matrimony and restore broken marriages, heal parent-child relationships, reconcile familial inter-generational conflict, provide sound premarital wisdom, and transform our families into beacons of God's light. So whether or not you are married or have any kids, this track is geared just for you because everyone — regardless of age or vocation or spiritual maturity or marital status — is in a family.

Grace, the Gospel, and Gaps: Helping Recover the Family Unit |
The family unit in America today is under great attack and persecution. Unfortunately, families within the church of Jesus Christ are not immune to these hardships either. As a result, there has been a large decline in commitment, passion, service, and even attendance amongst believers in our churches today. How do we prevent being another one of these statistics? Today, Pastor Benjamin Shin reminds us about the basics of God's grace and the importance of the Gospel to fill the gaps and help recover the family unit for Christ and His purposes.

Honoring Our Parents
Do you know what the most quoted verse in the whole Bible is? It’s Exodus 20:12, which commands us to ‘Honor Our Parents’. It’s quoted one time in the Old Testament, and 6 more times in the New Testament. Clearly God wants to convey to us how important it is that we love and honor our parents. In today’s world, however, many parents rarely get the recognition they deserve, even from their Christ-professing children. This is especially true when inter-generational differences can compound communication issues, where children don’t know where their parents are coming from and vice versa. The goal of this track time is to define what "honoring" our parents means from a biblical standpoint, inspire and instill courage to seek reconciliation to those who have unfinished business with their parents, and, to those that have relatively healthy relationships with their parents, provide practical tips to shower them with love and appreciation.

Strengthening Our Marriages: The Deeper Battle
With so many demands on our time, coupled with fatigue, complacency, and spiritual attack, our marriages require sustained, intentional, and sober attention and sharpening. Indeed, our families are only as strong as our marriages are spiritually healthy. This track time will identify the ways our marriages can be battered, weakened, and susceptible to disunity, and to discuss how to biblically navigate and successfully overcome these things to strengthen the bonds of holy matrimony. While this track time is geared for married couples, it is equally applicable to those who are dating or just interested in marriage.
